It would be great if there was a general search capability and also the ability for developers to have some meta data fields so people could more easily hone their searches. For example, maybe a company is looking for somebody that has experience in working with JD Edwards on IBM i (aka AS400).

Don’t you think we could all benefit from browsing the devs by country/state?

Aaron Danks,

>Cool, great idea, except your blog post is inaccurate as ‘individuals’ cannot sign up. Unless you are lucky enough to have your email address on the same domain as your website:

Take a couple hours to purchase a domain from GoDaddy for $6 and forward the email to a free GMail account. Problem solved. If you are going to be doing development where people are paying you, and you hope to grow your presence, then this should be a no-brainer step anyway.

For example, I started out with hobby programming and registered the silly/fanciful domain MowYourLawn.com. Has nothing to do with lawn care, but people remember it easily.

Nice extra, thanks.
Maybe a country selection would also be useful?
In my country at least, I can imagine many companies would still like to work with local people (whether that is good or not).

Thanks again!

This is a really great idea. It should help increase the adoption of Sencha when a potential client sees there’s a large, searchable pool of 3rd-party developers available.

Could you list the RPG language as an option on the checkbox list? That is what the Valence (CNXCorp.com) and OpenRPGUI.com both use on the server side to interface with client-side ExtJS/SenchaTouch.
