Hi,

Sorry for the noob question,

How Do I add a menu bar in Ext Designer?

You know the usual file, edit, help menu across the top of the page?

You can add a Toolbar to a Panel for example, and then add some Buttons to the Toolbar. Does that answer your question?

I don't really want a menubar with a bunch of buttons on it.
Does the ExtJS framework support a conventional menu such as this:

or

Of course. See the Toolbar and Menu as a place to start. You can build any type of menu you want, with icons, etc.

Looking at the examples, it looks like each menu is essentially a button at the code level?

IE If I want a File, Edit and About menu, do I start by adding 3 buttons to a toolbar, or is there another container that will just hold the menu?

Thank you for your help.

You are correct, they are buttons. From there, you can "attach" a menu to a button, and attach sub-menus to menu items, and so on and so forth. But at the root, you have a Toolbar with buttons.
