Just wondering if anyone else is on Vista and if you like it as much as I do?

I have a neat little Vista Gadget (powered by Ext of course ;)) I use to monitor the forums. I would be willing to put it up somewhere if anyone wants a copy.

Was this done on top of Adobe Air? How quickly were you able to turn this out? I'm interested in possibly making some gadgets for Vista to coincide with my Ext based application.

cluettr,

No AIR, it's just a standard Gadget. Vista Gadgets have IE7 under the hood so it's actually pretty straight forward. There are custom APIs you can use, but for the most part this one is just straight Ext (with some theming ;)).

I will add saving settings across reboots and get it packaged up for download.

I would also be very interested in seeing the source. I've been experimenting with gadgets lately but didn't think of using Extjs...

Impressive..

Does it work on OSX - widgets are pretty much the same as gadgets - I'm sure it wouldn't take too much tweaking to get it working.

Great.

How did you adapt the skin? Do you have Photoshop files of all images so that changing the icons would be easy? How long did it take to change the ui?

No photoshop files, I am a basic gif/png guy. ;) I will hopefully have a blog post in the next couple days and I will throw it up for download. Thanks everyone for your interest.

Hi,
I am not very patient. So I decided to make the small gadget by my own. Unfortunately it is not Vista gadget. It uses AIR. I have put info about this toy here http://extjs.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10710, because it takes "Ext 1.1 AIR Window" by stekolla. It also make use of "Paging Grid Example" from ExtJS1.1 documentation; combines them together with a few new lines.

There is very small list of functionalities but it works ;-) here is the link: http://wregen.home.pl/pub/.

I believe it will be easier for us to wait for Jack's toy.

Oo, pretty cool, @wregen. I'm not running Vista, so an AIR app is pretty much the best I could hope for. ^_^

Thanks!
