Hello!
I'm completely new to the Designer (or ExtJS for that matter). I'm trying to create a JsonStore, which loads data that contains meta info. Specifically, I return exactly the sample contained here: http://dev.sencha.com/deploy/dev/docs/output/Ext.data.JsonReader.html (look under 'Automatic configuration'). Ok, I removed the comments. But everything else remained exactly as in that example.

So, I click 'Add JsonStore' in the Designer, specify the URI that returns this data (http://localhost:8080), select 'Load Data' and get a "load error". No further explanation or error message of any kind. Just "load error".

What did I do wrong? How can I get more useful error messages?

Thank you very much...

Juergen

Hi Juergen,

A load error occurs if either the URL cannot be accessed, which is most likely not the case, or if the data returned is not readable by the DataReader (or in this case, the JsonReader). If you can paste the exact output of http://localhost:8080, as well as attach your project file, I can help diagnose the issue for you. As far as error messages, I think it's a good idea to show the JavaScript error that is thrown from the DataReader...it might not be very pretty or too informative, but it will show an exception message alerting to the failed attempt in parsing the data. Not much more information is able to be given other than that.

Thanks,
Jarred
