View Full Version : [FIXED] Problem with scrolling a TreePanel in IE8 (GXT 2.1.1.)

I am using a GXT 2.1.1 TreePanel in IE and sometimes the display corrupts when I scroll the tree using the scroll bar.

- Sometimes there are no problems.
- Sometimes the tree does not scroll but instead the nodes that should come into view overlap the last entry.

- Other times the whole list becomes corrupted with some missing nodes and overlapped nodes.

IE version 8.0.6001.18702

No problems in Chrome or Firefox.

This looks like you are using a strict doctype. A strict doctype is not supported by GXT 2.1.1 and you will need to update to GXT 2.2 RC1

Thanks for the speedy response Sven.

At the moment the doctype is just at the default GWT generates:

<!doctype html>

I am not sure if this is strict.

Are you suggesting changing it to:

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"> to fix the problem?

Thanks

Mike

This for example,yes:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">

This works fine now in GXT 2.2 with the added script doctype support.

But GXT 2.2 still only supports quirks mode, right? I'm not sure what you mean by "strict doctype support".
