I'm a noob with ExtJS and Designer and I've searched the forum looking for an answer to creating something similiar to this example: http://dev.sencha.com/deploy/dev/examples/layout-browser/layout-browser.html

I have tabs which within I would like to have Border layout with 2 regions (West / Grid & East / Form). I did find this http://www.sencha.com/forum/showthread.php?107697-Setting-the-region-of-a-component-inside-a-Viewport&highlight=border+layout but I don't understand how to configure the border layout so that it will support splitting and such.

Can designer do this?

Thanks in advance,

Barton

Hi Barton,

Each tab is, in reality, an Ext.Panel. The Panel supports a "layout" configuration option, which you can set to "border". Then, you can add more Panels to the "tab" Panel and set their region accordingly. It's that simple. Splitting and such is defined on each region within the border layout. You can type "split" into the Filter... text box over in the Component Config pane.

Let me know if you still have questions regarding this setup.

Thanks,
Jarred
