View Full Version : Can I develop / model actions in the designer?

Hello!

Beside being able to lay out widgets on the screen and defining data sources, is it also possible to create and test actions?

The particular use case I am interested in: Populate a grid with records from a JsonStore. Click on one of the rows and have a form pop-up (or at least populate a previously empty form) with the values from that row. Click 'submit' on the form, post the data back to the JsonStore and refresh the grid with the new data.

Is it possible to create and prototype this entire loop in the Designer, or do I need to manually create action handlers, form population code and so on?

Thank you very much...

Juergen

Hi Juergen,

You would need to manually create your test routines. The Designer doesn't support the ability to implement your business logic/behavior, only to configure and prototype your UI. After you export your project code, you can implement your behavior into the .js class files. Thanks!
