I started (or tried to) with Dojo. I found the documentation severely lacking and instruction convoluted at best. I found Ext to be very easy to follow and the documentation well done. I have learned more about using Javascript with Ext than with any other JS library that is out there. Simple, easy, useful that's ExtJS in a nutshell. Also I found that the community for Ext is way cooler and friendlier than Dojo.
