setTimeout() doesn't start after leaving the page and re-entering it

Hi,

I'm using setTimeout() to update some stock quotation on a sencha touch app. The updates work fine but when I leave the browser without closing the page and then I enter again the browser and the page is there open but the updates stop working, I think setTimeout stops working.
Do you have an idea how can I prevent setTimeout() not stopping?

I was thinking if there is a browser event which is triggered when the application is back on the screen, where I can start again the setTimeout(), or maybe a sencha touch event which a can use.
