sencha touch code VS ext2

Hello :)

im very new to sencha and just wondering if i could use the code from ext2 tutorial for sencha touch project?
since i did notice some of the code are similar.

i would like to build and apps that grab data from json, and along the way when user select a combo, it will generate another dataset for other combo (read another json store).
just like this example.

slim chance the code will run as is but with a few tweaks you should be able to do it.
