Sencha Touch and url scheme ???

I'm building an app which opens songs in Spotify.
For example with the following URL, I can open spotify and listen to music:
spotify:album:20lwZdEllKyWWjZH2C6v4t

This works, in my Chrome browser. - It also works on Safari browser on iPhone.
However it does not work, when I create an instance of the app to my iphone homescreen.
"Error, URL can't be opened"

Why doesn't this work? What happens when Sencha Touch saves the app to your iphone homescreen?

Sencha Touch doesn't do the saving. That an iOS thing. Sencha Touch just listens to see if it was launched from the home screen.

Well there are things different...
if I save a 'normal' website to my homescreen, it loads Safari when I click on the icon.
When I save a Sencha Touch app to my homescreen, it loads an instance of my App.
And therefore it seems URL Scheme's or popups are blocked.

So something should be different... I don't know if that's Sencha or not. But I would like to solve the above problems.
Right now I'm stuck with opening a url scheme...
Will this be solved when I pack it with for example PhoneGap?
