GXT Team,

Does GXT development team has any plans to incorporate touch interface which can work on mobile and ipads in near future?

Any ETA or timelines on the same.

I know Sencha Touch web framework API can be used for mobile web applications development.

But i was hoping that GXT should also add the touch interface to make the life of the developers easier to develop mobile and ipad compatible web applications since it already has the Sencha Touch API's.

Thanks.

I guess the Sencha team is really silent about this really. Ext GWT is now in version 3 and still we don't see that happening anytime soon. Not surprised at all, Ext GWT for Mobile might be a self-competing product for Sencha if you look at it. However, if we look closely, Secha Touch 1 & 2 is for Javascript developers and, if possibly, Secha Ext GWT Touch is for Java developers, so its really something that the Sencha team should look into. I already have found a couple GWT mobile frameworks that does work. What we need now is to see something that comes from Sencha.

Thank You for showing your interest on EXT-GWT mobile smartphone compatibility.

I think Sencha team should look into this a priority basis if Sencha is really serious in mobile space to capture Java Developer community.

You can imagine How google has gained the popularity with Android and it is all Java based.

Check this out GWT mobile compatible with Phonegap integration:

I said it in one on my post earlier.
There is no need to wait for the GXT Team.

There a super alternative out there.

mGWT and my favorite :
Touch4j (http://emitrom.com/touch4j). Simply because Touch4j wraps Sencha Touch which i think it s the best mobile HTML5 framework on the market, adds support for Cordova PhoneGap and Titanium and is free :) .
