What are the fixes included in these release?
Thanks

I just downloaded the release and I don't see any change in JS files or CSS files, there isn't also any change in Release Notes. Release notes still states the version number as 1.1.0.

1.1.1 is only available to subscriber, i think you have downloaded the 1.1.0

I have subscription and I downloaded from the support forum. Al that changed was some resources files get updated and scss files to generate css files changed.

Currently it is displayed as 1.1.1 but it is only 1.1.0. We have sent this up internally to get it fixed.

What should be coming from 1.1.1 is some Android fixes.

Is there any time frame for next release? It would be nice to know the road map and time lines.

And what's about sencha-touch.js and css files that are part of the sencha touch chart download, the version in sencha-touch.js is 1.1.1 and i see some difference in css, is this one 1.1.1 or not?

bump on the release time frame for 1.1.1

so....
has anyone actually got their hands on this 1.1.1 release then?
can anyone post anything exciting about the Android performance?

i'm particularly interested in the HTC Desire... (which is still a hugely popular phone in the UK)...as it just hangs and freezes ALL the time on my app.
it is apparently their HTC Sense UI but that doesn't really help much trying to ship a commercial app with instructions on how to root your phone and disable it.

any major interesting fixes / enhancements?

also - mods, any idea on a release for the general public?
willing to contribute if someone wants to let me in :-)

+1 on the release target. I'm noticing a few annoying things with icon masks that I hope is in the scope of this fix.

I think this will go public this week (I see no reason why not). 1.1.1 is a bunch of bug fixes - the performance magic is all coming in 2.0.0, which we'll be sending your way in beta form very soon (a tiny number of weeks from now).

Of course! They're not massive but they are already put together

When you say "go public this week" do you mean that subscribers will get it or we will all get it? Delaying bug fixes for those who can't afford to pay $300 seems a little unfair. I could understand charging for early access to new functionality.

+1 to this

Also, you say go 'public this week' which has now passed, any more updates when we will see this?

Thanks

Will the documentation be updated for the new bug fixes? Also wondering how big this change is going to be, because I read that 2.0 beta is about to release in a month or less.

edspencer
26 Sep 2011, 12:17 PM
@chandramuralis 2.0 beta is oh-so-close and has a huge number of improvements to component robustness, expecting it to address many of the issues with 1.x

26 Sep 2011, 12:19 PM
If 2.0 beta is so close to release, then what is the benefit of releasing minor intermediate 1.1.1 version?

Make sense, our application is Dependent on Sencha Touch and was just wondering how difficult it will be to upgrade to 2.0.

We're trying to make that as straightforward as possible, though the first couple of betas are not expected to have all of the backwards compatibility features included

Hey guys, we just put it out (at http://www.sencha.com/products/touch), thanks for your patience. We're putting the finishing touches on 2.0 preview right now, which we think is going to make life much easier :)

For those asking about documentation, what are the biggest pain points? I'm writing a bunch of guides and filling in lots in the class intros but if there are particular things that are hard to do I'll see if I can cover them too.

Ed,
I took a look at the download page, but am still only seeing 1.1.0. Where do we find 1.1.1?

Thanks!

Trying to push this forward internally, seems there was a bit of a mixup. I'm still waiting on an update myself. Thanks again for your patience, I know this is annoying!

I should've downloaded it yesterday when I had a chance...... is there release notes or list of bug fixes posted somewhere. It would be better if the help Docs is updated......

Seriously?! I really hope that's not the case - I have a massive application that exhibits a variety of known issues on Android that 1.1.1 allegedly fixes. That would be an absolute disaster.

I'm really embarrassed about the way we've done this but am happy to report that 1.1.1 will be available again shortly (we'll update this post when it's live). Sorry again that we let you all down like this, I'll continue to push for more transparency and communication around things like this.

On a brighter note, I hope you've all downloaded and tried out 2.0.0 PR1 :) It's a long way from GA but I think it's the strongest preview we've ever shipped. Given the improvement we've seen in our execution over the last 6 months I'm really optimistic about the future of these products, but we still have a lot to do.

How about 1.1 Kitchen Sink demo, we are still working on 1.1 for our application and Kitchen Sink 1.1 will be really helpful to see the default UI.
