needing different name for form element with record

Hi guys,

I have a question, I have a textfield element what has a different name then the record. If I uses the commented line the textfield has a value, but I want to use the uncommented line for the name. how can I set the value of it.

Why on earth would you want to give a textfield the name consequence[][description]?

You didn't say how you're populating the values, I assume using something akin to loadRecord(). If you want to use the convention-based approach for populating your forms then you'll need to stick to the convention: the id of the data field must match up with the form field. There's nothing to stop you manually calling setValue() on an individual field if you don't want to stick to the convention.
