I'm a db admin and want to write web pages using these rich data grid controls. What is the proper way to learn? Learn basic javascript first, then YUI, then extJS or just extJS or something else?
Thanks

For me, the best way of learning is jumping in.
It would help to know some javascript and the concept of at the very least the 'singleton' model. Also, understanding the basics of the DOM is a plus.
Knowledge in JSON or XML Data formats will assist you in your goals. Some light CSS and HTML knowledge helps as well.
The examples are a treasure trove of information - you just have to know what you're looking for.
Good luck :)

I'd seriously get the hang of Javascript first.
Otherwise, you're going to urun into a lot of pain!
