Any changes to .js files you make after your last restore point WILL NOT be preserved when doing a system restore!! Additionally, Shadow Copy does not backup .js files. I learned this the hard way after trying to uninstall the dreaded 10 GB language pack "update" in Vista Ultimate.

A cursory search did not reveal any settings allowing me to enable Shadow Copy on .js files.

You have been warned,
skippy :((

BTW, undoing the system restore will restore the previously eaten .js files.

why would Vista digest js files away? is it considered harmful or something under Vista?

gotta say - yeah duh - system restore is mean to backup the system-files not user files.

vista is junk. i mean seriously... there has never been an issue in history when an operating system's predecessor continues to out-compete it.
