View Full Version : Applying The Frame Effect to a Panels Header

I was hoping someone could point out what I'm doing wrong here. I have a collapsed panel setup as the east region of a border layout. I am trying to use the frame() effect to bring it to the users attention. Currently there are no child components, just the panel with a header. I'm trying to apply the effect like so...

Ext.getCmp('somePanel').header.getEl().frame("ff0000", 3, {duration: 3});

But it appears to have no affect, collapsed or expanded, doesn't matter. I've tried increasing the duration and changing the color, to no avail. If I use the destroy() function instead of frame, the header is destroyed as it should be, but neither frame() nor highlight() appear to have an affect. Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated.

Try:
Ext.fly(Ext.getCmp('somePanel').getHeader().getEl()).frame()

What you suggested worked, thank you much. It looks like I don't even need the Ext.fly function. My original statement works if I just remove my arguments from the frame function. It looks like I forgot a "#" before my hexidecimal as well.
