Hello

Can someone explain the differences between the two ? I see some differences, but they look so simular. One big difference though is the license! So why wouldn't I write a normal website with Sencha Touch ?

Thnx
Luca

Ext JS 4 is targeted for computers, Sencha Touch for mobile devices.

that I understand. But I see so many Ext JS components in Sencha Touch, that I can imagine I could easily write a normal Website with sencha touch

Scrolling in ST is not normal, you cannot use your mouse. You can click and drag like you would with your finger but that is very counter-intuitive for users.

ok, so its not the looks, but the behavior of the components which is different !

Yes... the widgets are the biggest part of the difference. Things in ST are geared towards using your finger where Ext JS you can count on more resources and a mouse that can click more accurately.

Be aware that for a "normal website" both frameworks are quite a bit of overhead. They were designed for interactive applications, not just read-only websites.
