Hi, I am testing a packaged application on an Android 2.3.6 and 4.0.3 device. In both, the pinch to zoom does not work. I also notice on the 4.0.3 device there are no built in zoom controls on the map, but there are on the 2.3.6 device. Can anyone shed any light on these observations? Thanks

Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0.x) supports multitouch ontouch events now, where as previous versions like Honeycomb (3.x) and Gingerbread (2.3.x) did not, hence Google maps is now controllable via pinch to zoom now. As a result, Google Maps does not serve zoom controls to Ice Cream Sandwich devices, just like they don't serve them to iOS devices. Earlier versions of Android must use the zoom control buttons.

Check your map in the default browser on Android 4.0.x. It should be able to pinch in and out. If it fails to do so there, then you Javascript written somewhere that is preventing Google Maps from reading the ontouch events. If it does work, then the problem is with your java container.
