Hi everybody,
I'm searching for a documentation that explains how to set an extjs component to our postgreSQL db !

i was using many other libraries before going to ExtJS...always i found easy to connect to db and populate my components...but this time, i don't find it (maybe i become an old coder !?) i really don't see.

Can you show me that the extjs data features is better than "connector.js" from dhtmlx lib (i'm not working for them but i use a lot of their lib, the only thing is about the license. you may understand my position) ?
Please, if you can direct me thru the documentation to find this info !

Thank you very much
best regards

What are you using for your backend? PHP, Java .. etc.

In a nutshell, your backend connects to the DB and returns JSON. You just need to have ExtJS receive the JSON string.

If you configuration is different, please explain.

Scott.

Hi Scott, thanks for your answer.
I'm using PHP to connect to our db, i follow the tutorial to connect to Mysql, but it doesn't give much more about PostgreSQL !!!

Are you using basic PHP without a framework?
You can always use something like CodeIgniter that has built-in connectors
$db['default']['dbdriver'] = "postgre";

or ...

here is a posting on PHP about connecting to Postgre
http://www.php.net/manual/en/pgsql.examples-basic.php
