I am looking for the same. I suspect that the scilence means that there may be no simple way to achieve this.

This may be partially helpful: http://www.sencha.com/forum/showthread.php?86653-Locked-Freeze-Column-Grid. I didn't try it.

I just checked GXT3.0 and the examples don't seem to have this feature. Since there is no support for pinning/freezing columns in GXT it is not a sin to look around :): http://www.smartclient.com/smartgwt/showcase/#grid_frozen_dynamic. After all in this specific context SmartGWT is not a competitor because there is no competing component in GXT.

SmartGWT and EXTJS is providing this locking feature for Grid.
previous link hava an example LockableGrid_0.7.zip‎ (http://www.sencha.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=22208&d=1283387384) which was done by two grid approach (all Locked coloumns will be in one grid and rest of the columns will be in different grid and making this as single grid for user , here problem is what all are operation user doing on first grid should applay on second grid based on events like scroll, select etc... and vice versa. ).

Please let me know if any body find solution with SINGLE GRID approch which is similart to Samrt GWT and EXTJS implentations.
