I was reading an old post about form validation and you mentioned it might be out for version .34.

I was wondering where it sits now on your Ext roadmap.

I am working on it now. I figured while I was rewriting the EditorGrid it was a prime time to abstract out the editors to be used in standard forms.

so are you saying it will be out as a part of the 0.40 release?

It probably won't be quite ready for widespread use in the first beta of 1.0, but it will be there by the offcial release.
