How can we set proxy 'type' of store to 'rest' in Ext Designer ?

Do you mean XDS 1.2 or latest version?

In looking around, I do not see an option for a simple data.store that you can assign 'rest' as the type. You can most likely just create a store and they change the type as needed in your code manually.
Also, have you had a chance to review the latest version. This is possible as well as many other features.
Architect is leaps and bounds above XDS 1.2

Yes, I tried dynamically setting rest type using store.getProxy().type='rest' but it din't work scott. can you suggest me how should i dynamically setting type to 'rest'

We don't support rest proxy in Ext Designer. As scottmartin suggest we do support it in Architect.
