Grid view as a Template in ComboBox

Is this possible, what I am after is when I move the mouse over a field, I want a popup view to appear with a grid like view, I thought of using the Combo with the Template, but I am not sure how to go about it, I have attached a screen shot of what I would like to see:

So hovering the mouse over the version field shows the following grid.

Any help ?
