Hi -

What is the difference between an alias and an xtype? It appears that they are one and the same..

thanks

They are related, but not the same. An alias is what you give to a component you define. For example alias: 'widget.mycomponent'. Ext then knows that when it sees an xtype of 'mycomponent' to create the class you defined with that alias.
