Has it been suggested that Yahoo might host Ext on their yahooapis servers alongside the YUI files ?
Obviously Ext is not related or affiliated with Yahoo, but it might be a good move on their behalf.

I dont see why they would ever do that. Jack has his own webserver to host Ext off of.

Sure, but I'd imagine the yahoo servers are way faster.
The yahooapis server seems to respond extremely fast, and its gzipped and more.
There's also the bonus that it may be cached by those who visited other sites using yui.

I read the thread alex, its a major shame that amazon doesn't do gzip

Hi,
Amazon S3 is a storage system and it doesn't try to be anything else. I think they'd prefer folks who need computer processing to do it with EC2 ;) If they offer gzip with S3, the price might go up.
But I think most browsers cache js files, so it's not a big issue imho.
