Hey guys,

I created a screencast showing how to make a basic menu.
It was the first time i ever did this so its still a bit amateurish.
I probably have to redo it if its going to be actually used.

Update 2:both urls updated to the ones on extjs host

http://www.extjs.com/downloads/screencasts/grid/
http://www.extjs.com/downloads/screencasts/menu/

You can get the files created in the screencasts here:

http://www.extjs.com/downloads/screencasts/grid/grid-files.zip

question 1: how (which programm you use?) do you make such a screencast?
question 2: which ide are you using?

Holy jeez Tommy! This is just what Ext needed. Keep them coming, will you?

What screencast do you plan on adding next?

Can you do some drop and drag stuff?

I just went back and read the thread and I see that I posted in the wrong thread.
I meant to post in this thread. http://www.yui-ext.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3728

In the other thread humpdi asked what tool you used to create the screencasts. I just wanted to offer another option. Wink might be a good choice for people looking for a tool for making screencasts that is free and cross platform (x86 Linux and Windows).

In any case thank you for creating the screencasts. Your efforts help with the EXT learning curve and we all benefit from that.

Nice screencast! Please make more, it's interesting to watch and makes it easier to understand Ext when you see it "live". First time I've seen a chat type screencast, works great :)

Great video. If you would like to edit it and use proper annotations rather than typing in comment blocks, I would recommend the open source s/w CamStudio rather than Camtasia. I used Camtasia until I found this software. It has quite a few options and outputs avi and swf.

Here's the link http://sourceforge.net/projects/camstudio/ or http://www.camstudio.org/

There is no sound in the video. I will look into more applications before i continue making new ones. Pretty busy atm but more coming soon for sure!

nice work tommy.

i have a doubt. I want to create a data entry form, which has 3 rows in it, and two columns. Two date values, and a text value. I want to have the resizability of a grid, but the cm model won't work. How do I do this? Thanks.

Hi I know this is off topic,

Tommy,
Can you give some details of how you set your IntelliJ project up?

I import the js files at the top of HTML, but it is still saying Ext.onReady is an unresolved function, yet Ext IntelliJ does know about some other Ext members.

I notice that you include ext files from /yext - Did you have to setup a webserver with IntelliJ?

Basically I'm not using Java, what I'm looking for is good intellisense support of javascript.

Hope you can help, thanks.

Is there any reason these shouldn't be added to the Screencasts archive?
http://extjs.com/learn/Screencasts

I can do the wiki-work, but I didn't want to step on someone's toes since I'm new here...
