Hi there,
We're looking very seriously at using Ext.nd with a few applications now under development at our organization. I just did a demo of Ext and Ext.nd to our Notes developers that went very well, and a few of us are starting to incorporate it in a few projects to get a feel for it.
There are two big issues that we're uncertain about: accessibility (which I'll probably raise in another thread in a few days) and how Ext.nd will work under Domino 8.5 and its incorporation of Dojo.
Does anyone know how Ext.nd will work under Domino 8.5? I know there is a beta available at least for the Mac, not sure about Windows. Has anyone tried looking at how it will interact with Ext.nd?
I assume they will not inherently conflict, since they are each in their own namespaces. However, that still leaves a lot of area for compatibility / performance concerns.
Will download times increase because all the Dojo libraries as well as the Ext and Ext.nd libraries have to be downloaded for each page, or will there be a way to "turn off" Dojo for any applications/dbs/forms/etc that we wish to use Ext.nd on? If IBM is using Dojo to make a richer field UI (like a date picker or whatever), will we run into a situation where that element gets rendered and then re-rendered by the two competing libraries?
Have any of the Ext.nd devs (or anyone else!) had a chance to look into this yet, or is it still too early?
Thanks!
Jim
