A bit off the Ext GWT topic, but I just couldn't resist in light of all the recent hoopla around GPL licensing:
SpringSource just released a beta of the app server based on Spring Framework. Typically, anything coming out of Spring is accepted by java developers like candy. Apparently, not this time around and again due to GPL (and rather apparent concern that sooner or later SpringSource wouldn't resist its VC vibes and relicense Spring under GPL) - check out this massive conversation going on the server side. It really sounds familiar and SpringSource guys it seems are really getting an earful:
