Automated Testing using Loadrunner and Quick Test Pro

Has anyone out there tried using Loadrunner and/or Quick Test Pro to do automated testing for Ext based applications?

Those are the tools our organization uses and our QA department is having trouble getting them to work on our new Ext-based application.
