Is there an IRC channel for Ext anywhere? If not, should there be one?

Maybe #extjs in Freenode? (it's empty right now, I'm the only one there).

you're not alone anymore.

(someone who knows about these things should 'claim' the channel, etc)

IRC (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_Relay_Chat) is the best B)

everybody do a: !ext++ on #extjs right now :)

<mynickname> !ext++ # i love Ext because Ext is the best thing that ever happened to Web since 1.0

Don't forget to include your reason for liking ExtJS in your karma (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karma) initiative (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Initiative) :D

server: irc.freenode.net
channel: #extjs

use mirc, virc, xchat, irssi, chatzilla or any other irc client to connect.

Where is everyone?

BTW, if you're at work you can get through most firewalls and proxies with CGI::IRC. There are tons of open CGI::IRC sites running on the next.

I've been using http://neverstable.nipl.net/cgi-bin/cgiirc/irc.cgi

Just select other for the channel and type #extjs in the popup.

Wonder how hard it would be to do a ext frontend to a php irc client and accomplish the same thing but not so ugly? I'll have to research it.

Actually there is one, but I can't get to their website from work, just the sourceforge page.
It's phpfreechat. Looks like it's sajax based. Looks better than CGI::IRC. Anyone used it before that can comment how it works?

Whats the reason for using Freenode? im not used to this IRC Server being a big gamer im constantly idling on Qnet and i know they also have big channels for #php, #webdev and #mysql

Just wondering why Freenode?

From freenode's site "Freenode provides discussion facilities for the Free and Open Source Software communities, for not-for-profit organizations and for related communities and organizations. In 1998, the network had about 200 users and less than 20 channels. "

Therefore being an open source software community it seems a very relevant network to be on.

Unfortunately I am unable to access IRC from work, however I am using ExtJs for a project currently. I will probably check when I make it home tonight, but I was curious if anyone knows if the channel is still alive and well?

Thanks,

-Chris
