In both JS (http://www.extjs.com/store/extjs/) & GWT (http://www.extjs.com/store/gxt/) store in Developer License section, there should have been "Developer License" instead of "Commercial License", as the rest sections follow the suggested template.

We are going to buy a license anyway, but i'd just like to know:

If the code is under the GPL3, then i have the right to redistribute the code with anything my code. I only have to provide the source to my application if i create a derivative work (extending a class does not constitute a derivative work). For example, a derivitive work is when i get the source and modify it and repackage. This when the GPL kicks in. I would then have to provide the source code to the changes i have made.

So really the only thing we are buying a license for is SVN access, which we want.

Can someone clarify this strange position please.

Hey Kango,

You have to give away your code once you decide to go with GPL & redistribute it.

But if you buy Commercial License, you need not have to.

Buying a commercial license does not give SVN access AFAIK. You have to buy a support subscription.
