myHD.de

myHD.de is the new generation of platform independent applications. Platform independent, multilingual, rich-client Application, MVC Models, Database independent, Browser based are some important keywords in the development of this new application.
myHD.de can be used as a service on the Internet, as an Intranet solution or as a stand-alone application. Follow the new path, with myHD.de (http://www.myhd.de)

Development

The first stage is a double accounting with impersonal accounts and Debtors / Creditors. Data can be entered by a dialogue booking. All reporting is available as PDF so that it can be printed and / or saved.
We see application areas in a mobile, on-site use as a simple financial accounting and in a later stage as a payroll accounting.
The languages that already exist were translated automated by Google Translator and are .po files. These files also include the German text so that only the .po files must be translated to edit current languages or insert new languages.
A company with several facilities can be entered. The Company may be edited by multiple users.
The application can also be used on a local computer, other computers can access the application via LAN. We built a Windows installation. For Linux and OS X the local environment must be set up manually.

Financial accounting.

Technical Background

The application should be developed as platform independent. Useable on a single computer or in a LAN or by Internet. In addition, multi-language was required and reporting in a platform independent form. The reporting is therefore created as PDF.
The application requires a server (Apache) with PHP 5.2.x and a database (MySql).

The backend is based on CakePHP and a MySql DB.
The frontend is based on extJS. The connection between them is implemented by Ajax Requests.

I couldn't seem to get it to go to English mode, stuck on German?

@mjlecomte: There are three posibilities to change the language:

1st: There are 2 little buttons on the bottom of the application. To change into English-Mode, you have to click the "British-Flag".
2nd: On "non-Mac"-Operation-Systems you can use the right mouse-button to open the contextmenu. In this menu you can also change the languages by choosing the menuitem "Sprache".
3rd: Similar to the second posibility you can use the button, named "myHD", to open the startmenu and change the languages by choosing the menuitem "Sprache".

Be sure, you allow cookies on your system.

Hi Mav,

I also tried to set the language by clicking on the flag in FF3 - the page reloaded but the language didn't change.

In IE7 it works as expected.

@danh2000:

Thank you for your note. perhaps it is up to the standard browserlanguage.

Works only the German language or could you change the language to Spanish in FF3, for example?

It works for me in FF2, it does not work in IE7. Yes, I accept cookies. Yes, the page does reload.

I didn't check if the various options all link to the same method, but I did try both start menu and the task bar icons.

@hangmedown

Building the results is a complex workflow. Therefore the results are collected in a PDF file. You can save, print and send the result by e-Mail.

The PDF can't be shown in the Browser, because the IE7 doesn't support this possibility for the PDF gerenated in the Web-Application. I don't know why. But it offers to show or download the generated file.

I tested this Application and I enjoyed it. Especially the PDF Feature makes the data portable.

Keep it up!
