I'm wondering why ExtJS isn't going to be represented at The Ajax Experience at the end of September? Three of it's major competitors are going to be there with half day presentations, and two more competitors have panels dedicated to them, but no Ext, what's up?

We are pleased to announce that Jack Slocum and I will be at The Ajax Experience. We will be presenting two sessions "Hands on Ext" and "Advanced CSS and Theming for Ext JS" each of which will be one hour long. We will have more details up on our blog in the next couple of days.

Who's interested in meeting up at the conference?

I'd love to hear some reports from people on the ground there about what's going on, how the Ext sessions were received, and general gossip.

Those of us who's employers don't like to send minions off to conferences need to know!;)

Animal,

Just came out of the "Tutorial: JavaScript Library Overview" by John Resig, and it was made clear from his tone of voice that he dislikes ExtJs. He left out ExtJs out of the discussion because it is "Closed". He compared Prototype, jQuery, Dojo, and MooTools.

Apparently news to me since I was traveling across the states to get to the conference yesterday but, jQuery has partnered with the Microsoft>:) of all people? Lets see where that leads them.

Personally it is a bad choice on the part of TAE to have a creator of one of the javascript framework give a session on comparing javascript frameworks. How can you get an unbiased opinion?

I'll continue to spread the good word on Ext. Will give more updates later as the Ext Sessions are planned for tomorrow. Can't wait to meet the team.

Jay -

It was all hands-on and there were no pre-fabricated slides. Video should be up soon on Adobe TV.

I left a comment this morning on my blog post.

Thank you to everyone who was able to come out and join Jack and I for our sessions!

There were no slides for either of our presentations, we both took a more hands-on approach and actually did development during the sessions instead of pre-canned slides. Both sessions were recorded and will be available on Adobe TV.

I will be putting together another blog post detailing the talks, the code/css that was generated and the tools that Jack and I use for development.

We’d love to hear any additional comments that you may have if you attended the sessions.

Still waiting for this to get up on Adobe TV. For those of you who attended/watched my presentation called Hands-on Ext for the VIsual Ajax Group, these are two totally different presentations. They are however named exactly the same thing. :-/
