Keep / remember / persist checkbox selections when paginating grids

Despite a number of threads discussing ways to keep / persist / remember checkbox selections when paginating grids, not to mention this is a very common case and desired feature, I find it a lot difficult to understand why this feature is not built-in into extjs grids/checkbox selection models.

This feature is really ideal. Are there any plans to support it?
