Does anybody know if there are plans to support simple graph/chart plotting in the 3.0 release?
I'm asking because if the answer is yes I can wait until 3.0 is released, otherwise I'll start using other solutions (plotkit for example).
Thanks for any info!

Yes, 3.0 does have charting built in.

Great, I'll wait for the 3.0 release then!
By the way, I was looking for svn access on the website but didn't find it, but I guess there is a way to check out a read only trunk, isn't there?

Oooops, we have to pay for read only svn access? Why is that, it will be released so anybody can download it, so what sense does it make to not allow read only svn access? (excuse my naivete)

Perhaps it provides additional incentive to endusers to financially support the developers time/effort?

Sure. I was just surprised since most open source projects that release code in an open source way usually also grant read only svn access (or whatever version control system they use), i.e. there is no distinction between "development" and "production" code from the point of view of a user. He/she has open access to both (under the restrictions of the open source license of course).
There is nothing wrong with the Ext open source model, I'm just surprised because I haven't seen it before. But that only tells stuff about me and not about Ext :)
Anyway, I'll wait for the official 3.0 release then. Ext is great! :)

Yeah, let's not tread the waters of talking about open source, there's been a few threads on that already. My take on it, JMO, is that the developers thought of ways to motivate people to contribute financially. So to that end there's a few carrots here and there where you can pay for this or that to get extras. So they created special forum access, and access to svn to get continuous updates and sneak previous on the next version, etc. Personally I think it's worth it based on all the effort that goes in. I'm sure they have to put food on the table just like I do.
Actually what is perhaps a little shocking is that you have two choices. Pay what they say, or pay nothing at all. I'd be curious of some people would make donations say $10-$50 range to support the project (and still not get a license). I suspect most people won't even do that though, they'll either pay or want it for free. I only say that based on some other open source projects that I know are very popular and I am shocked to see how few people actually donate.
But back to your conclusion, ExtJS is a great product, and Ext3 is already a treat.
