View Full Version : [FIXED][3.x] Grid - horizontal scroll

27 Mar 2009, 7:30 AM
I scanned the last 100 threads and didn't see anything close, so in case it's not known:

All Several of the grid examples have a horizontal scrollbar (that should not be there).

Check the array grid example for one.

On which browser? I did a quick test with FF3 and IE8 (in IE8 std, compat, IE7 and quiks) and none showed a horizontal scrollbar.

ps. SVN trunk rev. 3462

Mine does. array-grid example. FF3, IE, Chrome. On Opera it works fine!

It's supposed to autoExpand the "Company" column so that the columns fit the available width.

It overdoes it by about 2px

And when I configure the GridPanel with

viewConfig: {
scrollOffset: 21

It's fine.

It just miscalculates the available width.

svn 3462 / FF3.07 / IE7

Seems like the problem might be around the autoExpandColumn, there's a couple of other grid examples in the linked jing (http://www.screencast.com/users/mjlecomte/folders/Jing/media/e029d435-8ae6-4ad1-b947-9e53d77a1e2f) that don't have the problem:

I can't reproduce this under Chrome, IE7 or FF3.

I can't reproduce this under Chrome, IE7 or FF3.

You'll need to verify it with WinXP Pro.

See this thread:

Pro apparently has thicker scrollbars. There's a method in the linked thread where it's possible to calculate it.

It's to do with fat, fluffy XP UI schemes.

Since I turned off schemes to save a few precious CPU cycles(!), I dont have this problem

Yeah, but I'm not so much worried about myself, as someone having a client that uses XP Pro.

Just an update: this issue appears to be still OPEN as of now, but the plan is to defer this until after the release of 3.0 final.

A fix for this has been added to SVN.

Just as a heads up for anyone using Ext 3.0.0 I found that I still needed to put the scrollOffset 21px fix in. (Testing on Vista Ie7/Fx3.5.) I assume the svn fix is post 3.0.0.
