Either that, or disable the automatic downsizing of them!
People post screenshots which are totally useless because they are shrunk.
People should use a photobucket account instead.

There's a setting in AdminCP to resize attachments and to specific sizes.

mschwartz, you know where the setting is in the admincp off the top of your head?

Heh...
You guys are running really old vBulletin (3.6.7), and I run 3.8.2 these days. AdminCP is a bit different, so not sure where.
Maybe 3.6.7 doesn't have the option?
Try the vbulletin options at the top. It could be in the user settings.

i disable them and force people to use services like imageshack or JING (free)

The downside of using imageshack or other services is that they are really slow and when people use img tags to reference them in posts, it's really going to slow down loading of pages here.
I know from experience running a pretty big vb3 site.

Well, hosting is reaaaaaaaaaaaally cheap. Jing is Free, taking a screenshot and posting it is easy as ever now.

Those free services have limited use count for images. Plus just another site that has the potential to sell my email address when I sign up.

I have two email accounts. one for spam - free services, and the other for business, etc.

Yes, I have a PhotoBucket account, but I can't use it from behind the company firewall.
So please don't disable image uploading!

Also, vb 3.8 has a builtin feature like imageshack, so people can upload and host images at extjs.com, and here we can control the bandwidth and accessibility.
