Hi Jesus, why do you like this paid ide? I think eclipse or netbeans offers the same or even more.

I like it more than Eclipse or Netbeans because I find it more intuitive to use. Many java developers that i've introduced this to have fallen in love with it over eclipse, even though they've used eclipse for some years.

With this paid app, i don't have to go searching for JS Editors and plugins for JS Code completion. It's built in! THere are also a bunch of plugins, SVN, etc that are bundled in.

I don't have the time to waste by wrestling with and IDE and its plugins. I just want it to work. This is why i use a mac instead of linux or windows. No configuration hassles. Turn it on and let me work.

Ah, ok! So its main advantage is that is install and go and easier to use. Thanks, I always keep an open eye on alternative products.

Yeah, you're right that to get a Workspace DeLuxe® in Eclipse you need to cherry pick your components.
But the freedom is exactly what I like. (Thats also why I am on Windows)

Vagually related: Aptana 1.5 is finally out. This runs on eclipse 3.5.

+1

IDEA is pure win. I fell in love with it many, many versions ago and have never found an IDE that does such a good job of supporting me while not getting in my way. Something about Eclipse/NetBeans never clicked with me. IIRC, it started with workspaces and went downhill from there.

I've tried aptana, but because it's eclipse, i never really got to fall in love with it.

Hell before I fell in love with IDEA, i was using dreamweaver! Omfg, the stone ages!

I still remember using HomeSite :) Wasn't it what Dreamweaver was based on?
