Hello,
I'm an EE currently working for a startup company aiming to create a combined hardware / software platform for the medical industry. I have been drawn to GWT and to GXT because of my existing familiarity with Java and because of the highly polished look and feel that this library offers.
I have already done some prototyping with GXT, and am becoming familar with the patterns used.
Here's the thing: we are moving towards using Fusion Charts for visualization. I am toying with the idea of creating some components to integrate GXT and the Fusion Charts package in a similar way that GXT and OFC2 are already integrated. I realise this will be no small task but the scope of our project easily justifies it. If we go ahead with this I will open source all the code.
I wanted to get the feel from the community on several things
Has anybody already attempted this? (I am aware of gwt-fusioncharts on Google Code)
Is this sane thing for me to attempt on my own? I'm not really a software engineer but I'm fairly competent at Java, and I've been using GWT for around half a year now. I'm also pretty familiar with Flash / JS in general as I did that kind of thing for work during my degree
If anybody is doing or thinking about the same thing, would you like to share info / collaborate?
Does anyone have any clue wtf is going on with the gwt-fusioncharts project or has made use of its code? There's no docs and I get the feeling the author thinks that it's beneath him to produce some (if you're reading this: no offense!)
Please post here or contact me on the address in the profile, thanks!
