Can't post in the Premium Member forums, so I'll post here.
I think that rather than having a fixed number of "trigger fields", in this case 1, a ComboBox should allow any number of "buttons". That way, rather than having to extend the control, it can be built in. Developer can specify 1 or more buttons, each with its own icon and handler. They would be right justified. There are many windows controls that provide this and it makes it so much more easier and intuitive to assign an action to each button. I have provided an example of this in the attached image.
