Yesterday evening the new PhpDesigner Vers. 7 is present.
The goal of this is Designer is the support for ExtJS :D !

I'm not loading a VM just to do PHP debugging :P.

I will try PDT soon with Eclipse. Right now, I'm focusing on finishing this book ASAP.

I personally dont use VM for that, I use it to test IE.

I have an old zend key that I run studio 6.1 on both linux and OSX which I'm sure you know is just eclipse.

O.K. the PhpDesigner only work under Windows. (:|

But in the most companys (that i know) have a heterogene network.
The working computer works under windows. The developer server works under
Linux. Important. Forget the inbuild debugging of PhpDesigner.

You must take 2 external tools for this system.

1. You must take the xdebug - helper - plugin in the firefox browser.
Then you can debug comfortable debug your application.

2. And the second part. You must compile your own
xdebug extension for the developer server. In our company we take 'xampp'
from www.apachefriends.org.

I know in the moment is the 'Spekt Editor' or 'Aptana' better for writing
only javascript / ExtJS. But i think pham ( the owner of PhpDesigner) is open
for new ideas. And i think, when the community help him to find
new ideas to build a better version 7.x than is the PhpDesigner better as aptana and Co. .

On www.mpsoftware.dk there are some tutorial how you can use the xdebug plugin for firefox.

I haved install php designer.It's the same output as spket for dreamweaver.What people more confuse is config and function like myself.I don't remember bunch of config or classes.People used to .net are used to API future while extjs,we are visiting the documentation and scratch our head what config to used or not.:s
