License Question

Let's say I am a freelance developer developing application for various clients. If I use extjs in the clients application (NOT open source), do the client has to pay for any license to use or sell their application. If so how does this work? If my client now sell their application to their clients will everyone of them need to pay extjs for the application.

Or can I just buy single commercial license for myself and develop application for any client that I want?
