Listfield display in grid

My company would like to display a listfield in a grid similar to the way a dropdown combobox is displayed in the editable grid example for Column header "light" - http://www.extjs.com/examples/#editablegrid

In that example, the dropdown displays over the grid. Does listfield support this or if not, is this planned in an upcoming release?

Shouldn't setting the z-index of the listfield control the display of this? I have found that this is doing nothing. Is this a bug?
