I reckon this kind of stuff is part of the doc or at least some 'best practice'/resources kind of sticky. Another way is to promote/elevate some stickies etc into the doc as they mature.

The documentation has pros: it's formal, vetted, organised and it is assumed that api users have read it. The cons though are: you (Jack) need to maintain it yourself, publishing takes time.

Does the layout scheme diagramed work without a "center" region? I had the understanding that you had to have a "center" region in order for the and "east" or "west" region to make sense (in regards to resizing/collapsing)
