Update hidden field on a doc from a view via right click

I am new to ext.nd and I am trying to create a proof of concept for my boss. He wants to see a right click action that updates the value of a hidden field on the document. I am thinking I will need to do the confirmation the ext way and pass the UNID to an LS agent that runs in the backend to update the value and then refresh the view so they can see the change. Does this sound correct or am I going down the wrong path?

Look in the tasks.nsf database that is in the download zip file. I think there is an example of doing that from an action button. I'm pretty sure that if you configure your action to show up in the right/context menu that this same code will work. I'll test this out later today to confirm.
