Why Checkbox styling was removed in Ext3?

I have found that Checkbox styling was removed in ExtJS 3.
You can verify it here: http://www.extjs.com/deploy/dev/examples/form/check-radio.html

So, I had return back the Ext 2.2 Checkbox implementation and styles and it working well now.

But for what it was removed?

I believe there was a thread when 3.0 was introduced regarding this along the lines of checkbox styling being too inconsistent across all browsers, so it was removed in favor of default styling.

I'm trying to use an Ext.Button with 'toggle' turned on and custom images as a solution...
I'll let you know if it's a good workaround
