The problem could be caused by running the same app in two tabs of the browser. The two instances of the app will be sharing the same cookies and localstorage... to the system they will appear to be...

Implementing heartbeat messages seems like a straightforward way of doing it... you could use device to device messaging... or to be slightly more efficient you could have a channel for each device...

@BrettNagy Yesterday one of the servers failed which caused app/group creation to fail. It was going very slowly, rather than not working at all, so we didn't notice until the evening. I fixed it...

I think that's some kind of race condition during startup. We did fix an error there a while ago. Do you have the latest version of the SIO SDK?
