  1. I think Sencha are in something of a Catch-22 - damned if they provide dates and don't make them, damned if they don't provide dates at all. Given the debacle that was the 4.0 release, I can...
  2. Is it currently available in SVN/GIT?

    Two questions:

    While I know Sencha won't give dates, and that's appropriate, can you let us know what to expect by subsequent releases in the 4.1 cycle? (another beta followed by an RC, another...
  5. I am an incorrigible optimist, thanks for noticing!

    I don't know how Don's baseline can be 4.1, as it hasn't released yet - 3.4.0 is the most recent non-4 release against which to compare...
  6. @rich, @don,

    I'm confident that Sencha will address the performance issues. The question is, will it happen soon enough to retain developer interest?

    Don, I know you're all busting your tails...

    I've always been convinced that Microsoft is in league with memory manufacturers, because it seems that the only cure for memory leaks is an infinite supply of it!
  8. @MrSparks,

    That's no way to live, my friend...
  9. Concur - I know I'll have customers who for whatever reason are still on IE6 and won't budge. Ultimately, they'll have to move, but good IE8 support is critical (as I'm sure Sencha would agree).

    I'll definitely be looking at this, as I have a custom field layout that I use extensively.

    @dongryphon,

    I know that this is a performance/theme preview. That said, I'd like to ask if Sencha could start a list of any currently known/anticipated breaking changes between 4.0.7 and 4.1.

  13. The QuickTip example, if you inspect the page, seems to put a class of "qtip-target" on the element that has a tip. Perhaps you could check the element for the presence of that class?

    Have you tried Ext.form.field.File (http://docs.sencha.com/ext-js/4-0/#!/api/Ext.form.field.File) yet? You put it into an Ext JS form, and when the form is submitted, it will upload the content.
  15. I think there's either a problem with one of the column configs, or perhaps flex isn't liking decimal numbers (I use numbers like "flex: 1, flex: 4, flex: 10", etc., but that may not be your...

    @skirtle,

    Don't you know that Browser and Framework leaks are so 2010? ;)

    It's SenchaCon week, I wouldn't be surprised if not too many thread update requests like this got updates... If you don't, you might want to ping them at the end of the week... I only say this...

    I'd add the judicious use of Yahoo!'s ySlow ratings to the list.

    To amplify @skirtle's point, I think you HAVE to do it with TextMetrics. Trying to figure out how many characters will deterministically fit in a specified width (your initial request) will only work...

    @Ed,

    That seems sane to me. I mean, you're in a different place than the old days when it was a few developers turning out code on a dime...
  21. I think you'd have to extend it to:

    1) float the rowBodyTpl out of the constructor into an instance level variable, and change the accessor to refer to that. Then, where you need to change it,...

    @Ed,

    Glad to hear that maturity is a focus, we'll clearly all benefit from that. One question I have for you relates to the product roadmap for Ext JS. In years past, it has been a fairly...

    @Ed,

    For my part, I don't think you lost our trust - rather it seems that Sencha lost their way on the 4.0 release, in terms of QA, design problems, and as much as anything, communication.

    I'm...

    My vote (if I had one) would be to not to even try to release anything just prior to the conference. 4.0 dropped rather prematurely, just before the trip to Croatia, putting both Sencha and customers...
