Why don't simply install it to the local repo?
And, if you are using m2, you will sooner or later need an own repo for stuff that cannot be published.

GXT is for GWT 1.5 but 1.5 is not release yet. I am running the risk of developing against a beta version (GXT) and GWT 1.5.
I have accepted the migrations I have to make on every release... -

As long as it is your understanding that the Javascript is object code and that running the application in the browser is distibution no one should use Ext without a commercial license for projects...

I wished it was that easy. Ext believes (and the FSF too) that the fact that the application is going to run in a browser means distribution. That is what I call stretching/ misusing GPL.

I work as a consultant and even the POCs I am involved with are build by small teams at the customer. This is not unusual here in Germany.
Regarding community, it's a matter of definition....
